Xiaonan presents on SKERIC

Xiaonan presented her research project on behalf of Uppsala University at SKERIC (Sweden Korea Education, Research, and Innovation Collaboration annual meeting in Stockholm on the 4th Feb 2026.

KTH hosted visitors from South Korean and Swedish universities within SKERIC. Management representatives for Korea University, Seoul National University, Pohang University of Science and Technology, Umeå University, Uppsala University, University of Gothenburg, Lund University and KTH Royal Institute of Technology, met to discuss future cooperation and the next phase. Representatives for Vinnova and Vetenskapsrådet / Swedish Research Council were also present, who shared their valuable experiences of working with Korean colleagues.

The SKERIC initiative addresses several major challenges currently facing democratic societies. It aims to provide researchers and innovators from Sweden and Korea with the necessary tools, skills, and professional networks to develop into leading academics and highly impactful innovators. Participating universities are offered a range of opportunities, including seed funding and student exchange programmes.

South Korea has become an associated country in Horizon Europe, the European Union’s principal funding framework for research and innovation. This status facilitates broader participation by Korean researchers and promotes structured, long-term collaboration with EU partners.
